Probably the first time in years my clothes have been clean. Actually washes the clothes with water vs the GE machine I had that left most of the clothes dry after washing. Only had the machine a short time and I am hopeful it lives up to its reputation.

when we first bought our washing machine we picked speed queen because it was American made and top of the line and best in their field. since purchasing in February of 2026 we have had a tech out almost monthly due to the machine constantly breaking. first the motor and mother board. then the motor again. then a belt snapped and had to get another motor. then the belt fried and literally caught fire. now the belt fried again and now the motor, belt, motherboard, outer drum and pump and drain assembly need to be replaced. the poor service tech has been to our home over 10 times in the past 6 months for our brand new top of the line machine. to top this all off with the back and forth of warranty claims the customer service department has been an utter disaster. the long hold times and the call back times over 3 hours later drag this process out even longer. just to reiterate the tech has replaced so many parts on my machine the only thing original is the inner drum, the agitator, and the shell of the washing machine itself. at this point for what we paid for the machine it could have been replaced 3 times over including the techs manual labor. the technician said in his 30 years of service and maintenance this is by far the worst machine he has ever worked on. my experience with this company has been nothing but terrible since our purchase. each warranty claim takes over a week to get parts in and then the tech has to come physically do the repairs, all while not being able to do our laundry. we made the tech go over exact instructions on how to operate the machine just incase we weren't doing something correctly, we weren't and he confirmed it and that's how he operates his personal machine. we are not overloading it and just washing a normal weeks worth of clothing for two grown adults. i understand even with American made products there can obviously be faulty parts and what not, but we are going on 8 months of consistent issues with the entire machine. i know that most cases go well and it's just a one time issue but our case has been absolutely terrible from start to finish. and the long wait times on the customer care line back me up. if you decide to purchase from this company, good luck, if you get a good one, great, if you have my same experience be prepared to have to constantly call and fight just to get any work done with this machine under warranty. i am saving this review incase they decide to remove it and will keep reposting it if they do to let your customers know how atrocious your customer care truly is. if you want me to change this review, you can send me a new machine.

If I could leave zero stars, I would. This is, without question, the worst washing machine I have ever owned, and the customer service experience has somehow been even worse. I spent approximately $1,500 on this machine, and since we bought it in February, we have had a service technician come to our home 14 TIMES. That is not an exaggeration. At this point, we are on the second round of replacing virtually every part in the machine. Let that sink in: the same parts that were already replaced because they failed are now being replaced AGAIN. This is no longer a repair issue. This is clearly a defective machine. More concerning, this machine has already caught FIRE once. On another occasion, it began smoking so badly that, had we not caught it when we did, we genuinely believe it could have caught fire again. Despite the repeated failures and serious safety concerns, the company continues to refuse to replace the machine. Even the service technician who has been working on it told us that, in more than 30 years of experience, this is the worst machine he has worked on. Their solution? Continue replacing parts under the warranty. That might sound reasonable if the repairs actually worked. Instead, we go without a washing machine for approximately two weeks, wait another week for parts, finally get it repaired, run ONE load of laundry, and the machine breaks again. Then the entire process starts over. Trying to get assistance from customer service is just as frustrating. It can take HOURS just to receive a callback. Escalation requests continue to be denied, and when I have asked to speak with a manager, I have been denied that as well. At what point does a company take ownership of the fact that a particular machine is defective instead of repeatedly inconveniencing the customer and replacing the same failed components? Fourteen service visits. Repeated replacement of the same parts. Weeks without a functioning washing machine. One actual fire and another serious smoking incident. And still, replacing the machine is apparently unreasonable to them. For a company that promotes itself as one of the best washing machine companies in the U.S., the quality of both this product and the customer service behind it has been absolutely unacceptable. I did not spend $1,500 to own a washing machine that requires a service technician more often than it washes clothes. At this point, I don't want another temporary repair. I want the defective machine replaced, and after everything we have experienced, I don't think that is an unreasonable expectation.

I've tried everything. This washer does not get our clothes clean. It doesn't even get the odors out. My last washer cost about a third what this one cost and it worked so much better. Plus, this washer is so small, I have to do twice the loads. It's costing me a fortune for a terrible result. I hate it.

I love it. A real hearty washer that actually cleans I recently bought the Speed Queen TC5 to replace a modern electronic washer and I could not be happier. You can immediately see the difference in how much cleaner the clothes come out. This machine reminds me of tge durable Speed Queen my Mom owned over 50 years ago. It's that traditional washer that gets the job done. I highly recommended for anyone tired of modern machines that dont wash well.

I got my TC5 about a month ago. It replaced a 24-year-old Maytag that I loved. The old Maytag finally reached the end of its life, and I thought I wouldn't be able to find a new washer like it. The TC5 checks all the important boxes: (1) Can fill the tub completely with water (2) Classic, vigorous agitator that can really deep clean clothes (3) Ruggedly built (4) A few handy control options to fine tune the wash cycle but simple enough to not need another app on my phone to use them. This thing really cleans clothes thoroughly! It has an agitator function very similar to my old machine and based on that prior experience I have no fears at all about it being too rough on fabrics, including my dress slacks and dress shirts. If I ever had anything super delicate to wash, I'd just use a laundry bag. For my use case, the modest tub size is perfect. It's big enough to wash my queen size bedding, and because it can fill the tub completely, I can wash bigger clothing loads than some of the larger machines that force you to skimp on water. I also like that it can clean a tub of clothes genuinely quickly – even when using the filled-tub and heavy-soil options. It's not the quietest thing ever, but that's why most laundry rooms have doors that close. The old washer was similar, and I can barely hear either of them with the door closed. All things considered, the TC5 is close to perfect for my needs. Hopefully, it'll last a long time compared to the short-lived junk that most appliance companies are selling these days.

Purchased new w & d in April. 1 st one knocked. Replaced with # 2 This washer leaks. SQ rep serviced machine. Only use 1 T soap. No softener. Bubbles come out the back. Water under machine.

Like that lid doesn't latch, but sad that water doesn't keep running so I can rinse detergent cup or my hands. I miss some things about my old machine. I could spin the manual dial around to extend agitation time, add more water, do another rinse-all at any point during the cycle. I wish I controlled the Speed Queen instead of it controlling me. The salesperson bragged on how fast it is, but maybe a little too fast. It doesn't clean as well as my old Maytag. I bought it because of its reputation to hold up for many years, but I thought I would have more control over what it does and that it would clean better.

Pros: Quiet, has the features I want, sturdy. Cons: Tub has rough edges that can snag delicate fabrics; expensive. Given the cost of the washer, I expect that stainless steel tub to be polished so that all surfaces are smooth. However, multiple units failed the "pantyhose" test, where we take pantyhose and wipe it around the tub to reveal any rough edges. SpeedQueen's quality control should perform this test, and any tub that doesn't pass should get sent back for polishing until it passes.

I have only had my washer and dryer for about a month. I really like it and am still learning the settings , I love that it is made in the USA and from all I have read they are the best reliable machine. I love the full tub of water with extra fill if needed. It handles bulky sheets without them coming out all twisted together like my previous washer. Best of all the wash cycle is shorter and my clothes are coming out cleaner. The transmission broke on our Whirlpool washer. It was only six years old! I should have purchased a Speed Queen years ago.

We bought this TC5 top load washer after having bad experiences with LG and Samsung. and we were hoping this would be the machine that would last more than a few years. Nope. Failed within three months. Randomly turns off mid-load no matter the setting. A repair person is coming under warranty, sure......however, warranty doesn't fixb the time/water/electricity invested in unfinished loads, and now I have to take a day off work to have this new, supposedly durable machine repaired. It's grossly disappointing.
